This Autumn and Winter I’ll be creating a series of creative craft you can try at home. I’ll be adding to this blog post as and when these makes arrive with link to the videos. These makes are completely inspired by the seasonality of what is happening here on the farm. At the moment the squash patch is bursting and unlike last year, I decided to grow a smaller amount of squash I enjoyed the most from last year’s patch. I couldn’t get enough of the butternut squash. For me, just roasted and drizzled with oil really showcases its simplicity, but over the weekend I couldn’t resist making a hearty simple soup. HOWEVER, I decided to craft up the skin and made a simple vase for my dried blooms. Here’s how…

This craft project would suit an older child. Mainly because although a glue gun makes you feel badass, it’s obviously not great for teeny tiny fingers and hands. My son who’s nine couldn’t give a monkeys but my twelve year old got really into it.

🌿Collect leaves. Allow them to dry. Grab a stick. Heat up the glue gun. Curl the leaves round with your fingers and glue to the stick. Boom. As the leaves begin to crisp you’ll be left with leafy vintage looking blooms, perfect for wanging (technical term) into a vase x
