Behind the Print Julia used to work in a toxic environment where her stapler was regularly ‘borrowed’ and her photograph of Hugh Jackman, as Wolverine, was constantly turned over when she went to lunch. There were many side eyes and lots of tuts as the department grew & gradually made her feel like a number rather than a Tom, Dick or Harry. Thankfully Julia realised there was more to life than tutting, stationery & large claws. She promptly left the office by being ‘that one’ after an office ‘swivel chair wheelie’ propelled her into the photocopier. That’s when she knew she wasn’t a Tom or a Harry. She was ‘that one’. -

Welcome to the Home of Joyful Makes, based on Dartmoor, between Ashburton and Bovey Tracey! This workshop will show you how to create your own acrylic 'bloom' painting. Set within the flower farm, you'll work outside within the flowers, taking inspiration from what you see, smell and hear at the bottom of the valley. Using your senses, you'll work with acrylic paint to create your own floral-scape acrylic painting. This is a joyful outdoorsy workshop designed to appreciate both painting and working within nature. Should the weather not be in our favour, we'll work in 'the home of joyful makes', my newly revamped studio, where blooms will be set up to welcome you Important Info: This workshop is suitable for all abilities, but is adults only. We're located on the edge of Dartmoor, sandwiched between Ashburton and Bovey Tracey. Full directions will be emailed to you. The flower farm is a short walk from where you'll park but not suitable for those with access difficulties. Sorry. The studio is located up steep granite steps. Please allow 3 hours for this workshop. All resources are provided for you. This workshop is laid back and friendly, so if you're coming by yourself, don't worry. It's relaxed and you'll meet some lovely like minded people. The workshop will take place in the flower farm.
