As featured in the April 2024 Country Living Edition, this beautiful bespoke Springtime hoop is decorated with dried blooms, all grown onsite here on the farm. Made from chicken wire and homegrown willow, blooms and seed-heads are free-woven into the wire making a unique decorative hoop. Suitable for indoor use, or outdoor (if covered from rain and wind), she measures 15 inches in width and will be posted in a wreath box. A wire loop sits on the back of the hoop ready for hanging. She was an astute, witty, joyous woman who not only played the piano beautifully, but also the cello. Her music room stretched out to a garden that never seemed to end. She kept doves and every so often you could hear their coos. Containing 1–13 rising notes, and a sequence repeated 4–5 times per minute for many minutes on end, they were the soundtrack to her garden. It feels like a million years ago now. In time as I learnt to play, I was allowed to play in the garden after my lesson, climb the trees and look at the doves.I feel really connected to my own garden at the moment, more than I ever have and for a number of reasons. It's always a busy time on the farm, but sometimes there are moments when I realise the magic is always in the small things. I cannot tell you how happy I was to bark chip the flower farm paths! It was an eight hour slog of shovelling bark chip into a wheelbarrow, but with the sun on my face, the birds singing and the radio playing something smooth and jazzy I was so happy being outside in my happy place.
